[Super Sol Construction Case] Example of Arch Culvert Protection

This is a case study of the road improvement work for the Nanyuan Fuchinen Line.

We would like to introduce a construction case of the artificial lightweight material "Super Sol," which is made by crushing and sintering waste glass to create a foamed glass product. This case involves the protection of arch culverts. Super Sol was used as lightweight fill to reduce the load on the arch culverts and decrease the earth pressure on the reverse T-shaped retaining walls. The use of Super Sol allowed for greater flexibility in construction on complex terrain and contributed to a shortened construction period. 【Construction Case】 - Project Details: Improvement work on the Nanbara Fuchinen Line Road - Application Category: Civil Engineering / Protection Structures Backfill / New Retaining Structures - Client: Okinawa Prefecture - Construction Location: Chinen Village, Okinawa Prefecture - Required Performance: Lightweight, load reduction, earth pressure reduction For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

[Super Soil Construction Case] A2 Case of Backfill Material for Retaining Walls on Soft Ground

This is a case of road repair work for the Heisei 21 fiscal year repair bond No. 6 in Hita City, Oita Prefecture.

We would like to introduce a case study of the construction of "Super Sol," an artificial lightweight material made from crushed and sintered waste glass, used as a raising material in kitchens. In road widening construction, lightweight fill materials are typically not used behind precast L-shaped retaining walls. However, due to occurrences of overturning on soft ground, Super Sol lightweight fill material was adopted as a countermeasure. After construction, there were no instances of overturning or sinking. 【Construction Case Study】 - Project Details: FY 2009 Improvement Bond No. 6 Road Repair Work - Usage Category: Civil Engineering / Backfill for Structures / Retaining Walls - Client: Oita Prefecture - Construction Location: Hita City, Oita Prefecture - Required Performance: Lightweight and reduced earth pressure For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

[Super Soil Construction Case] A2 Tail Arm Fill Material Case [Tochigi]

This is a case of road construction for management purposes in the Hirasawa area of Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture.

We would like to introduce a construction example of the artificial lightweight material "Super Sol," which is made by crushing and sintering waste glass to create a foamed glass material. This example pertains to the use of Super Sol as backfill material for the tailing wall method. It was adopted as backfill material for the road construction for dam management. Due to the presence of an existing retaining wall at the lower part of the construction site, Super Sol was used to reduce soil pressure. Additionally, because of the steep slope, a lightweight fill with good drainage properties was required. 【Construction Example】 - Construction Details: Road construction for management in the Hirasawa area - Use Classification: Civil Engineering / Lightweight Fill & Structural Backfill / Roadbed & Reinforced Soil Wall - Client: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Kanto Regional Development Bureau - Construction Location: Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture - Required Performance: Lightweight, soil pressure reduction, drainage For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

[Super Sol Construction Case] A2 Case of Road Widening Work on Steep Slopes, Tochigi

This is a case of the Inari River construction road widening project in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture.

We would like to introduce a construction case study of the artificial lightweight material "Super Sol," made from crushed and sintered waste glass, used as backfill for reinforced earth walls (geogrids). Super Sol was utilized as backfill material for the reinforced earth wall (geogrid) in a road widening project on a steep slope. Due to insufficient bearing capacity of the ground in the widened area, lightweight Super Sol was adopted in sections where the fill thickness was significant. 【Construction Case Study】 ○ Project Details: Inari River Road Widening Project ○ Application Category: Civil Engineering / Backfill for Structures / Reinforced Earth Wall ○ Client: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Kanto Regional Development Bureau ○ Location: Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture ○ Required Performance: Lightweight and reduced earth pressure ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

[Super Soil Construction Case] A1 Case of Settlement Mitigation Measures and Subgrade Lightweighting

This is a case of road improvement and paving work on the general prefectural road Ishio-Tadabushi-Tsuchiura Line in Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

We would like to introduce a case study of the construction of "Super Sol," an artificial lightweight material made from crushed and sintered waste glass, used for ground subsidence prevention measures and roadbed lightweighting. Due to the weak ground, there was a need for roadbed lightweighting, and it was adopted as fill material for the slope of the access road to the bridge. Super Sol, which can be excavated again later for the installation of pipes, was used. By using Super Sol, which does not require the pouring of concrete slabs, early lane switching was made possible while changing lanes to the left and right during construction. 【Construction Case Study】 ○ Project Details: Road improvement paving work on the Ibaraki Prefectural Road Ishikawa-Dafushi-Tsuchiura Line ○ Usage Classification: Civil Engineering / Lightweight Fill / Roadbed ○ Client: Ibaraki Prefecture ○ Construction Location: Ishikawa City, Ibaraki Prefecture ○ Required Performance: Lightweight, reduced earth pressure, shortened construction period ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

[Super Sol Construction Case] A2 Case of using L4 for backfill material of the quay wall

This is a case of the Nago Fishing Port 4.5m quay improvement project in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture.

We would like to introduce a case study of the construction using "Super Sol," an artificial lightweight material made from crushed and sintered waste glass, as backfill material for a seawall. In the coastal protection project, Super Sol L4, which has a specific gravity of 1.1 and is lighter than gravel or crushed stone but sinks in water, was adopted. Initially, other lightweight fill materials that sink in water were included in the design, but Super Sol was chosen due to its ease of compaction and resistance to material change, based on its slaking rate and crushing characteristics. 【Construction Case Study】 - Project Details: Nago Fishing Port - 4.5m Seawall Improvement Project - Usage Category: Civil Engineering / Structural Backfill / Seawall - Client: Okinawa Prefecture - Construction Location: Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture - Required Performance: Lightweight and reduced earth pressure For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
